Our beautiful Homeland

Our beautiful Homeland is a Croatian national anthem. This experimental video is an attempt to make a new audiovisual monument to our beautiful country. Each character of an anthem is engraved in separate frames of 16mm celluloid filmstrip. 397 characters of the national anthem are transformed into 16 seconds long motion picture. With this procedure I create an unique inscription or rather an image of a song, in this case the national anthem.Completely abstract image, deficient in information and  with very dynamic tempo, becomes a truthful inscription of one national anthem and represents my personal view of current social-economical- political situation in Croatia.
